Kyle was introduced to dirt track racing at a very young age. The Keen family owned the famed #5W Sprint Car, driven by Randy Wolfe that won many races in the 80s.
From there Kyle’s father (Shawn Keen) ran 410 Sprint Cars from 1997-2003 picking up a win at Selinsgrove Speedway in addition to multiple top 10 finishes throughout his career.
After Kyle’s father retired from racing, his grandfather got back into the Sprint Car scene as an owner. He had several notable drivers
including Pat Cannon, Todd Schaffer, and Brian Leppo as well as national level drivers such as Tyler Walker, and current World of Outlaws standout Daryn Pittman. In 2011 the Keen Motorsports team won the prestigious Kings Royal at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway with Tyler Walker, which paid $50,000 to win.
In 2012 Kyle’s grandfather passed away and the team was sold off.
Fast forward to 2019 and Kyle decided to resurrect the family team and embark on his own racing journey with no prior racing experience. He bought a car, and the equipment needed and started following the Pennsylvania Sprint Series for IMCA Racesaver Sprints. In 2019 Kyle has made most of the features he has attempted to run, and he currently sits 9th in the national rookie standings for all of Racesaver, as well as 11th in PA Sprint Series Points.
